Steeped in history and legend, Tyrone has a rich heritage with many visitor attractions. The Ulster-American Folk Park is an open-air museum in Castletown, just outside Omagh, which tells the story of the vast human tide of emigration, from Ireland, to the New World of North America. The Ulster History Park, near Omagh, outlines the history of the area from the arrival of the first Neolithic settlers 10,000 years ago to the 17th Century Plantation of Ulster.

Golf enthusiasts can enjoy an exciting game of golf in one of the many golf courses including Aughnacloy, Dungannon, Omagh, Strabane, Newtownstewart, Fintona, Benburb Valley and Killymoon Golf Clubs.

Tyrone is a popular destination for fishermen and anglers with the Blackwater River and many fishing lakes dotted across the county.
