The stark granite Mourne Mountains in County Down are renowned for their beauty and mentioned in the words of the famous song by Percy French, "Where the mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea".
Strangford Lough, in the north of County Down, has a famous bird sanctuary, where three quarters of the world population of Pale Bellied Brent Geese winter in the lough. Other activities at Strangford Lough include sailing, kayaking, yachting, bird watching and diving.
