Nestling on an inlet of Lough Mahon in upper Cork Harbour, Glanmire is a quaint village with a long history that dates back to early Christian Ireland.
Glanmire has great historical connections and the nearby stone bridge located in Riverstown is one of the oldest constructions in Cork. Oliver Cromwell is reputed to have ridden over this bridge when he inspected Glanmire during the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland.
There is plenty to see and do for visitors staying in Glanmire accommodation. While staying in Glanmire you will find attractions such as Dunsland Gardens - woodland gardens with a wide range of plants, and the Monkey Maze, a 500sq metre adventure play area, catering for children up to 12 years old.
