county corkBandon originated as a town on the crossing point of the River Bandon in County Cork. Situated between two hills Bandon is sometimes called the "Gateway to West Cork". A small market town, Bandon is 19 miles from Cork city on the N71.

A popular Bandon attraction is the West Cork Heritage Centre situated in the former Christ Church. This is a unique exhibition in which visitors are transported through time to experience Bandon town as it was in times past.

Timoleague Castle Garden is a charming informal garden on the banks of the Argideen river which has been created by five generations of the Travers family. Also, the ruins of a 13th century tower built by the Barrymores stands here.

Enjoy a game of golf in Bandon Golf Course at Castlebernard, or try a spot of fishing in the river Bandon.

Thousands of visitors enjoy festive events in Bandon, such as the Bandon Music Festival and Bandon Summer Festival which take place each year over the June and August Bank holiday weekends respectively.
