Ennis

county clareSituated on the River Fergus, Ennis is the county town of Clare. It is situated north of Limerick and south of Galway on the main N18 road connecting these two cities. It is a gateway town to the beautiful west coast of Clare, which boasts some of Ireland's greatest tourist attractions such as the Cliffs of Moher.

Ennis has many sights to see and things to do such as rural walks, traditional pubs, golf, horse riding. Ennis boasts many visitor attractions including Quin Abbey (15th century), Ennis Friary which is a Franciscan Friary dating from 13th century, the Ennis Museum and Knappogue Castle.

Visitors to Ennis enjoy many festival events such as Ennis Book Club Festival in March which includes author visits, readings, lectures, music, workshops, exhibitions... and Fleadh Nua festival (Irish traditional music) which is the second largest traditional music festival in Ireland.
